Images of new 2010 World Cup Cape Town Stadium, Green Point, South Africa

Late Afternoon

The sea was like a mirror

19.25 Its a balmy evening and I am having dinner outside
Note that there are not many cranes
The helicopter is a military helicopter I am used to see countless helicopters every day but this one only appeared since yesterday and keeps circling around the stadium and Green Point Common

199 Days to go ....2010 World Cup Cape Town Stadium

November 21

Regent, Seven Seas Voyager docked in the V&A Waterfront
stayed just one day and night
You can see here what a tight fit it is
The harbour is quite small and it took ages for her to leave the harbour

She left Nov 22 early evening and sailed very fast past the Stadium many of my images were too blurred

2009 Clipper Round The World yacht race and the 2010 World Cup Cape Town Stadium on Sunday Nov 22 2009

A dramatic start to Race 4 of Clipper 09-10 in Cape Town saw eight of the boats cross the start line for the 4,700-mile race to Geraldton, Western Australia, while a collision between Hull & Humber and Cork resulted in the two teams returning to harbour. None of the crew were hurt and the Race Director and the shore team are now assessing the damage to Hull & Humber’s port aft quarter and Cork’s bow.

Cape Town has proved a huge hit with the crews who have enjoyed climbing Table Mountain – and abseiling down its sheer granite rock face – visiting Robben Island, the gardens at Kirstenbosch. And a few even had the chance to take an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of the brand new Cape Town Stadium which is being built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
