Bantry Bay

It was such great weather today and so I brought my camera along my wander along the Atlantic ocean

 and made a point of showing you how the other half lives

Bantry Bay is known to be the most wind free area in Cape Town. Secluded and  protected, this exclusive area enjoys about 290 wind free days per year - a significant fact given Cape Town's windy climate

The foot path along the ocean

You can walk all the way from the V&A Waterfront to Camps Bay,

it is well used in the weekends and very busy every evening,

people exercising, walking, running, jogging, cycling etc

I got some sugar white sand between my toes on third beach and

then headed back to Green Point for a late afternoon drink

and landed at

the Grand Café & Beach

which is located at Granger Bay between the Radisson Blu Hotel

 and the  V&A Waterfront.

A once-abandoned warehouse has been transformed into a quirky

restaurant on a man made beach

this is the long pure white bar complete with cherub detail

A big deck with tables for lunch and dinner or Indian day beds to laze around on

and a beach bar

The Grand Cafe , although not nearly as glamarous ...

it reminded me of similar clubs in Spain  

I enjoyed an hour of sipping my drink, watching people

and it got busier while I was there

That is the small man made beach of The Grand Cafe&Beach

I only had one glass of wine (R44 ) but heard that the food is average

 and the place has some teething problems

The views are stunning all around

and you are literally a stone's throw from the stadium

Driving home this evening I stopped to capture the view from the road up Signal Hill
Its over the CBD and the Port of Cape Town

then I just turned into Tafelberg road because with the thick misty heavy cloud over the city, the last sun rays just catching the buildings I couldn't resist taking this shot it was begging me to share this view with you

Hiking high up Table Mountain

I went for a few hours sunset hike high up Table Mountain There are no superlatives to tell you what its like, except its just heaven Out of this world !

It was an incredible day, just like summer and an exquisite sunset as you can see here After the hike I had dinner in Anatoli , it was heavenly :) ....Anatoli is the best Turkish restaurant in town Consistently superb food and being Teusday night I was amazed to see how busy it was and now I am about to fall off my chair, so I will leave you with just this photo of Robben island in the distance and our new 2010 stadium the most beautiful stadium I know and have ever laid eyes on :)
