This is what a rainy evening could look like during a World Cup Soccer match

Some one made a costly mistake again this evening

There is a Master switch for all the lights

All the lights were switched off by mistake for 3 minutes from 6.24 till 6.29 PM

as can be seen in the above photos

Unfortunately I can not find the article where I read this but it explained that the cost of such a mistake was phenomenal and it has happened already a few times before...

except that I was then not in the middle of shooting the stadium as I was now

Its been dreadful weather today in Green Point, horizontal rain 

mist and cold whenever it rains the tv signal disappears I do not know if this is peculiar to my home or if this is common in Cape Town Will not be good if you are watching the matches on tv when it rains

BTW do not bring any umbrellas longer then 40 cm to the fan park /stadium

they are not allowed in

An evening drive by our new Cape Town Stadium has become quite popular

At first glance you might think I did not get the horizon right here but I have a tripod with a spirit level

and I checked the image its level The stadium podium is tilted

I assume the reason has to do with  it having been build on hard rock

I came home at 7 pm and had no images for my blog

which is not that unusual..but I am never worried since they always somehow materialise :)

just as they did tonight

while I was eating dinner outside on the terrace at sunset

I saw the lights come on in the stadium and I never know 

 how many and which lights will be switched on

and then...OMG the "Ring of fire" was switched on too !

I hastily finished dinner and jumped in my car :)

Yes :( I admit ...sadly I have become a true stadium anorak

yet if you see me, you would never guess lol !

BTW as I write this and look outside ..

there is such a heavy fog outside, I cant see past the terrace

How beautiful the sunset was We are in the middle of a spell of exeptional beautiful warm weather and its supposed to be mid winter here !
There was not a cloud to be seen
