I would like to learn how to make a photo look like a "painting"
but I have only Picasa and Picnik
to play with and there is no option as far as I know to do that

...it's all about lighting, lighting, lighting - also composition, choice of subject, even the lens - and ultimately what you feel and see with your eyes - not an effect that comes about through a press of a button or clever choice of software - what you're after has been around forever, the electornic or programable ones you mention a mere few weeks by comparison...with a subsequant electronic fake looking end result

ReplyDeletewell considering your preferences of "real", un edited images, I "hear" where you are coming from but I got 2 emails from viewers suggesting to use either Photoshop or GIMP I wil try both one day
