New 2010 Green Point Stadium as seen from Milnerton Beach on a windy afternoon.

The wind was so strong I could hardly stand still,I and my camera were eating sand so I had to beat a hasty retreat

I hope the Green Point Stadium will not look like a grey blob on the horizon

Two more cranes came down today

This was at 19.00 PM this evening

At 18.00 PM a little bit of blue sky after a grey cool day

I fervently hope and pray that this is not it.... that they are going to attach another PVC mesh on the outside of the frame because I think these grey sheets look like dirty washing, it will look awful

  Took this at around 17.30 PM I drove past the stadium to see if they had sorted the wrinkles yet

but there is obviously a problem.. now there is a gap held together by ropes...

Unfortunately and upsettingly I knocked over my tripod with my Canon PS 5S IS, which was my baby, it could do everything except cook, unfortunately they dont sell it anymore and so I am now on the waiting list (Arrives beginning october in Cape Town)

its cheaper to buy the SX20 camera for close ups then buying a new lens for my SLR Cam

Passing through the Transkei

I have been traveling most of the day from East London and have now arrived in Knysna in time for the oyster festival
Since it was such a long journey there was no time to stop and take photos, these 2 were taken from the car

Transkei the Wildcoast has its own eery beauty with its gaily coloured rondavels dotted around on grass covered hills and warm coloured rocks and sand but it also looks like a desolate place
Interestingly 2 ex presidents were born in the Transkei: Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki

Can you help to get Table Mountain named one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature?

There is a road, Tafelberg Road which gets you to the Cable Car Station but if you keep following it, you will find it closed off to cars because the road isn’t in good condition, there are points where it's falling away and there are rocks which have fallen onto the road but the views are stupendous and its great for cycling, jogging or walking, it winds all around Table Mountain until it meets Devil's Peak (about 10 km's) then the tarred road becomes a gravel track which will take you around the mountain towards the Southern Suburbs
I found it to be rather busy around sunset which means I might dare venture there on my own on good weather days

I read that Table Mountain climbed to number five in the New 7 Wonders of Nature global rankings on Monday June 8 rocketing 24 places from its previous position of 2of the week before . It is now officially ahead of legendary mountains such as Mount Everest, K2 Mountain and Mount Kilimanjaro.
Table Mountain itself is so beautiful, rich in flora and fauna with pretty waterfalls and ponds the mountain is just incredible either to look at it or to be on it or to see the view from it, it deserves to be one of the new 7 wonders, at one time I even considered to run a blog just about Table Mountain but that was before the Stadium bug bit me :) maybe one day ...

The New 7 Wonders of Nature will be determined by votes from South Africans and foreigners who can show their support for the Mother City's majestic mountain by visiting Vote for Table Mountain

Madly and crazily in love with the new Cape Town Soccer stadium

I must be in love or mad or both I never tire looking at it or photographing it

Like the sea, this stadium never looks the same, it changes with the light and always looks beautifulIn my opinion the scenery and the stadium compliment eachother, many have likend it to a ship, with its sweeping wavy roof I guess it could indeed be mistaken for a ship from a distance

A random tit bit of information...A single incorrect switching off stadium lights could cost R75k
